Zecharia Sitchin died on October 9, 2010 (around
a month ago). Many people mourned his passing and
many celebrated his life and achievements. If you do
not know who Zecharia Sitchin was, he was the author
of a book called The 12th Planet. He believed that
there is a 12th planet which visits the solar system
every 3,600 years. He believed that the beings in
this planet are the ones who created the human race. From

Sitchin attributes the creation of
the ancient Sumerian culture to the
Anunnaki, which
he states was a race of extra-terrestrials from a
planet beyond Neptune called
Nibiru. He believed
this hypothetical planet of Nibiru to be in an
elongated, elliptical orbit in the Earth's own Solar
System, asserting that Sumerian mythology reflects
this view. Sitchin's books have sold millions of
copies worldwide and have been translated into more
than 25 languages.
Sitchin's theories are not
accepted by scientists and academics who dismiss his
work as pseudohistory and pseudoscience. Sitchin's
work has been criticized for flawed methodology and
mistranslations of ancient texts as well as for
incorrect astronomical and scientific claims.
Similarly to earlier authors such
as Immanuel Velikovsky and Erich von Dniken,
Sitchin advocated theories in which extraterrestrial
events supposedly played a significant role in
ancient human history.
According to Sitchin's
interpretation of Mesopotamian iconography and
symbology, outlined in his 1976 book The 12th Planet
and its sequels, there is an undiscovered planet
beyond Neptune which follows a long, elliptical
orbit, reaching the inner solar system roughly every
3,600 years. This planet is called Nibiru (although
Jupiter was the planet associated with the god
Marduk in Babylonian cosmology). According to Sitchin, Nibiru (whose name was replaced with MARDUK
in original legends by the Babylonian ruler of the
same name in an attempt to co-opt the creation for
himself, leading to some confusion among readers)
collided catastrophically with Tiamat (a goddess in
the Babylonian creation myth the Enma Eli), which
he considers to be another planet once located
between Mars and Jupiter. This collision supposedly
formed the planet Earth, the asteroid belt, and the
comets. Sitchin states that when struck by one of
planet Nibiru's moons, Tiamat split in two, and then
on a second pass Nibiru itself struck the broken
fragments and one half of Tiamat became the asteroid
belt. The second half, struck again by one of Nibiru's moons, was pushed into a new orbit and
became today's planet Earth.
According to Sitchin, Nibiru
(called "the twelfth planet" because, Sitchin
claimed, the Sumerians' gods-given conception of the
Solar System counted all eight planets, plus Pluto,
the Sun and the Moon) was the home of a
technologically advanced human-like extraterrestrial
race called the Anunnaki in Sumerian myth, who
Sitchin states are called the Nephilim in Genesis.
He wrote that they evolved after Nibiru entered the
solar system and first arrived on Earth probably
450,000 years ago, looking for minerals, especially
gold, which they found and mined in Africa. Sitchin
states that these "gods" were the rank-and-file
workers of the colonial expedition to Earth from
planet Nibiru.
Sitchin wrote that Enki suggested
that to relieve the Anunnaki, who had mutinied over
their dissatisfaction with their working conditions,
that primitive workers (
Homo sapiens) be created by
genetic engineering as slaves to replace them in the
gold mines by crossing extraterrestrial genes with
those of
Homo erectus. According to Sitchin,
ancient inscriptions report that the human
civilization in Sumer, Mesopotamia, was set up under
the guidance of these "gods", and human kingship was
inaugurated to provide intermediaries between
mankind and the Anunnaki (creating the "divine right
of kings" doctrine). Sitchin believes that fallout
from nuclear weapons, used during a war between
factions of the extraterrestrials, is the "evil
wind" described in the Lament for Ur that destroyed
Ur around 2000 BC. Sitchin states the exact
year is 2024 BC. Sitchin says that his research coincides
with many biblical texts, and that biblical texts
come originally from Sumerian writings.
These theories and explanations have become very
accepted and popular among many people (although
they also have many critics). In fact, there is
speculation that the Raelian religion was greatly
influenced by Sitchins writings. Again, directly

Ralism is a UFO religion that was
founded in 1974 by Claude Vorilhon, now known as
Ral. Ralism has been described as "the
largest UFO religion in the world". In academic circles, the
religion is also known as the Ralian Church.
The Raelian Movement teaches that
life on Earth was scientifically created by a
species of extraterrestrials, which they call the
Elohim. Members of this species appeared human and
when having personal contacts with the descendants
of the humans they made, they were mistaken for
angels, cherubim or gods. Ralians believe
messengers, or prophets, of the Elohim include
Buddha, Jesus, and many others who informed humans
of each era. The founder of Ralism, members claim,
received the final message of the Elohim and that
its purpose is to pacify and inform the world about
Elohim and that if humans become peaceful enough,
they wish to be welcome by them.
Within the Ralian Church, there
is a quasi-clerical structure with a height of seven
levels (Vorilhon is at the highest level). Joining
the movement involves a transmission ceremony as
well as an official apostasy from other religions in
recognition of Elohim, as the creators of life from
the heavens.
According to Giancarlo Genta and
Jason Colavito, writers who have influenced Ralian
beliefs include Zechariah Sitchin and Erich von
Dniken.
The purpose of this article is not to teach you
about Sitchin and/or the Raelian religion. However,
there is a common thread in both of these ideas and
movements that should be contemplated on and the
errors in it exposed. The idea that
extraterrestrials created us seems to indicate that
they are our creators and once more bypasses the
existence of One God. They (extraterrestrials)
become our gods and we are again cut from a direct
connection to the One God. The idea is: We are not
worthy to approach the Highest by ourselves. We need
intermediaries to guide us and be our gods.
This clearly goes against the Words of God that
say: Do not take any other gods besides Me. Anything
that separates you from a direct connection to God
(through the Messiah) is false and is in your way. Anyone who teaches anything besides this is a false
prophet -- be wary of them.
Besides, who promised Abram (Abraham) all the
promises that are revealed in our teachings? Who
fulfilled them to this point? Who is guiding
humanity to the Last Days? Have all these been done
by the extraterrestrials?
The fact is, it seems that there is a concerted
effort to put the Ultimate God (Formless, Invisible,
Nameless, and Eternal FINE) out of everything in
human life. I am here to inform you all not to fall
for these false teachings, as they are all against
the Words of God and only those who are not Called
will fall for them. Those who are Called will indeed
only accept the Most High (FINE) and will forego any
other falsities and wrong understandings.
Indeed, there might be some truth in some of
these theories, such as the existence of a planet
with an elongated orbit which visits the solar
system every so often. However, that does not mean
that, if there are some beings on this planet (or on
any moons that orbit it), they are gods!
As we have said many times before, false prophets
are usually not wrong in all the things they say. In
fact, false teachers might say many things that are
true. However, they also include some falsity in
their teachings and that is enough to make people go
astray and away from the One God (FINE).
If there are beings on other planets, the question
can be asked: Who created them? I am sure there are
superior beings that have realized there is
ultimately One God that has created all things. Let
us be one of these superior beings and go beyond all
the traps that prevent us from going to the
Ultimate. Let us become Divines.
